V1 If you’re ever passing by A fountain, throw a dime It may help you down the line If you pass a fountain, throw a dime V2 If you pass a lemonade stand on your path For 25 cents, buy a glass It may bring you good luck at last If you pass a lemonade stand but a glass Chorus: Oh no one’s ever gonna set you free You gotta learn to be You’ve gotta learn to be Oh nothing in this world is free But some things still come cheap Some things still come cheap V3 If there’s a juke box in the room Pay a dollar Play a tune It will heal you And others too If there’s a juke box Play a tune Bridge: And If you’ve got a favorite song, put it on on repeat Shout and sing along, wake 'em up across the street Buy a round for some one and have another one on me: It's the closest I might to a philosophy V4 Go swimming when you’re at the beach Or wade in to your ankles at least And let the water lap at your feet Skip a stone Be at peace When the moon's out, blow a kiss When a star's out, make a wish Light a candle for someone you miss Watch the fire in silence When there’s an echo shout “hello” Wave at people when you’re above and their below And Always carry some extra cash For lemonade stands and things like that

I.O.U. 03:48
I’m watching the sunset Get caught in the trees: Lost, wandering down my street I’m filling a page up With my best friends names I wanna know what I owe so I can repay... The beers and favors Years and years later I grab my calculator But it don’t add up So I put pen to paper But there’s always a remainder You’re all just life savers Till we settle up, IOU I’m watching the sunrise: Other side of the street And it’s finally dawned on me It’s Like I’ve been using my left hand to write my name It feels wrong and it never looks the same …and years later (Years and years later) All the fear and anger Just don’t add up So I put pen to paper Toss my calculator Use the hand I favor And I tear up my IOUs

V1 Darling daughter Now that you are born I can’t remember what life was like before Oh I have been renewed I have been renewed I have been renewed Now that I have you V2 Darling daughter Now that you are born Nothing matters the same way anymore Oh I have been confused If I’m telling the truth But now that I have you I am renewed Bridge They’re pouring holy water over my precious daughter I’m thinking “oh God - what do I have to offer? Am I enough for her? Am I enough for her?” V3 Darling daughter Now that you are born Im a father like my father before Im walking in his shoes And I’m sure he’ll be amused Cuz Now that I have you I’ll know what he went through V4 Darling daughter Now that you are born I couldn’t be prouder, I couldn’t be more unsure Of what I’m supposed to do Just between me and you But I have been renewed Now that I’ve met you V5 Darling daughter Since we brought you home Me and your mother just can’t leave you alone We’re so in love with you Our lives have been renewed To give our lives to you is the least that we can do Chorus They’re pouring Holy water Holding my precious daughter I don’t need God, I got her Oh God I got her Thank God I got her V6 Darling daughter I really could have sworn On the Bible That this Baptism was yours Who knew I’d be renewed By someone so darn cute Oh and I’m so happy I’m your daddy too

V1 Moonlight silvering my lawn Backyard singing songs I know It’s alright Moonlight singing through the glass Visiting at last I know It’s alright Chorus Moonlight I’m so glad you’ve come Remember all the things we’ve done Remember all the songs we’ve sung When I was forever young V2 Moonlight visit this old man As often as you can And stay All night Moonlight moonlight You’re so fair I can’t help but stare At you all night Chorus Moonlight we had so much fun Running hiding from the sun Back when I was 21 When I was forever young I’m not sure what I have become I’m not sure what I was running from Back when I was 21 when I was forever young

about

Demos of some new songs I wrote, recorded wherever I could around the house, whenever I could as a new dad: at naptime, after bedtime, in-between and sometimes during feedings using the Garage Band app. Thanks Steve Jobs... but I still miss my flip phone.

Oh, I painted the cover art too - it's a view of my garage in late autumn.. ahhh.
